Summary

Symptomatic cysts often feature a narrow neck or a ball-valve mechanism that hinders rapid contrast dye entry, a pattern readily identified on delayed CT myelography. Releasing the underlying neural adhesions (scar tissue) at the neck using microsurgical fenestration may effectively resolve symptoms and prevents recurrence.
